Welcome to Beta News for the week of April 27th, 2008!!
 
This Thursday, May 1st, is the End of the Year Party!!  It starts at 5:30pm at the American Legion.  The Legion is located at 292 S. Wisconsin St. (click the link for a Google map).  This is a fun get together where Beta members can relax and enjoy some food, it is also a themed party.  The theme is jersey party.  Pledges are required to attend this event.  It is also the time for elections so get your nominations in!

 

 
Nominations for the Beta E-Board for Fall of 2007 are needed!  Here are the positions available:

Welcome to Beta News for the week of April 20th, 2008!!
 
Upcoming events for Beta:
 
 
This Thursday we will be having our Accounting Awards Night at 6pm in UC Ballroom. Congratulations to all who received an award!!  The dress for this event will be formal.
 
This Friday we will be going on an office tour at Clifton Gunderson.  We will be leaving from the back parking lot at 1:45pm SHARP so please be on time.  The dress for the tour will be Brewer gear, but please make sure you wear decent clothes (no holes, etc.). If for any reason you are unable to attend this event, let us know ASAP.

This Saturday we will be having our Alumni Golf Outing at 9:00 am at the Evergreen Golf Club in Elkhorn.  There is also a picnic following golf in Starin Park at noon.

This Thursday we will be hosting Meicher & Associates at 7pm in UC 259B.  The topic for this meeting is Valuation, Litigation, Divorce, and Damage.  The dress for the speaker meeting will be business casual.
 
Just as a reminder, Business casual is a button up shirt or sweater, slacks, skirt or a dress and dress shoes.  No cargo pants, jeans, tennis shoes, etc.

I would like to take the chance to introduce myself to you as well as introduce Virchow, Krause & Company, LLP.  My name is Melissa DuBois, and I work as the Recruiting Coordinator here at Virchow Krause.  Our company is a regionally based CPA firm with office locations in Michigan, Illinois, Minnesota, and throughout Wisconsin.  With over 1,300 employees and 150 partners VK is the 15th largest CPA firm in the United States (according to the Public Accounting Report's "Top 100 of 2007").  This Friday, April 11th, we will be going on an office tour of KPMG.  We will be leaving for this tour at 2:00pm from the back doors of Carlson.

Beta News ~ Note Room Change

This Thursday we will be hosting Strohm Ballweg at 7pm in UC 259B.  The topic for this meeting is The 3 Commandments of Interviewing (Yes-Only 3!) .  The dress for the speaker meeting will be business casual.
